Deux Médaillées de Bronze du CNRS au LIRMM ! Aida Todri-Sanial et Meghyn Bienvenu
Dr. Aida Todri-Sanial received her Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California Santa Barbara, USA in 2009 and her Habilitation de Diriger de Recherches (HDR) in 2015. She is currently a Research Scientist (Chargée de Recherché) at CNRS (French National Center for Scientific Research) and member of the Microelectronics Department at LIRMM since 2011. Prior to joining CNRS, she was an R&D Engineer at Fermilab, IL, USA. She has held several visiting research position at Cadence Design Systems, CA, USA (2002-2004), Mentor Graphics, CA, USA (2005), IBM TJ Watson Research Center, NY, USA (2006-2007), STMicroelectronics, Grenoble, France (2008). Dr. Todri-Sanial is recipient of several awards, CNRS Scientific Excellence Award 2012, John Bardeen Fellow in Engineering at Fermilab 2009, Best Teaching Assistant at Univ. California Santa Barbara, 2006, etc. She has published over 100 papers in VLSI design area. She served as General Chair for ISVLSI 2015 and participates as Technical Program Committee for DATE, ISQED, NEWCAS, ISVLSI, and GLSVLSI. She is also an Associate Editor for Transactions on VLSI journal. Dr. Todri-Sanial is also engaged with European agencies such as European Platform of Women Scientist (EPWS) and the European Association for Women in Science, Engineering and Technology (WiTEC). She is a member of IEEE and ACM.
Meghyn Bienvenu carried out her undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto (Canada) and received her Master's and PhD degrees in Computer Science from Université de Toulouse. She obtained her PhD in 2009 for her thesis on consequence finding in modal logic, which was awarded the 2010 AFIA Prize for best French dissertation in artificial intelligence. After a postdoctoral fellowship at Universität Bremen (Germany), she was recruited as a research scientist (chargée de recherche) at the CNRS (French National Center for Scientific Research). From 2010 to 2015, she carried out her research as a member of the LaHDAK team at the LRI laboratory at Paris-Sud University. This past September, she transferred to the LIRMM laboratory, where she is a member of the GraphIK team. Meghyn Bienvenu's main area of expertise is knowledge representation and reasoning (KR), one of the main subfields of artificial intelligence (AI). Her current research focuses on description logic (DL) ontologies and their use in querying data, a topic that lies at the intersection of KR and database theory. She regularly serves on program committees of the top international conferences in AI and database theory, and she is actively involved in the organization of the International Workshop on Description Logics, the annual meeting place of the DL research community.
