Teams

The Zenith team (common between INRIA, UM2 and CNRS) at LIRMM (CNRS-UM2) has been created in January 2011 to address the challenges raised by scientific data management, in particular, scale (big data, big analytics), complexity and heterogeneity. The team has extensive experience in large-scale data management (distributed and parallel database systems) in cluster, grid and cloud environments, including NOSQL and MapReduce technologies. Recently, it has produced P2Prec, a P2P recommender system delivered in Open Source Software. P2Prec inspired the approach used for plant phenotyping data sharing in this proposal.

The Mage team at LEPSE (INRA–SupAgro) has internationally recognized experience in genetic analysis and modeling of development, growth and transpiration of plants in response to environmental conditions. It has been one of the first groups to develop phenotyping platforms, from 2000 onwards (Phenopsis, Phenodyn and PhenoArch), and the conceptual framework to use them in combination with modeling and genetic analyses. It participates as coordinator or as WP leader in major EU projects (FP6 AgronOmics, FP7 DROPS). F. Tardieu, directly involved in this project, is the coordinator of the Infrastructure d’Avenir, (infrastructures nationales) project Phenome that will improve the French capability in Phenomics. Publications in major journals involve quantitative genetics, modeling and whole-plant physiology.
