The LIRMM Informatics Department is currently composed of 85 permanent researchers, 16 associates and 70 PhD candidates. Each year, the department welcomes several guest and post-doc professors for periods from a few weeks to a full year. Informatics teams are supported by contract engineers in the framework of European and industry projects, as well as national activities.

The department is organized into 12 project-teams, including one that is common with the Robotics department.
