General presentation of ROB department collaboration and promotion

The robotics department is engaged in numerous academic and industrial collaborations in France and abroad. These projects help extend the department’s activities around the world.

Here are some examples of academic and industrial cooperation:
  • University of Dayton, USA (kinematics),
  • University of Coimbra, Portugal (force control),
  • CNR of Genoa, Italy (control),
  • University of Stanford, USA (modeling, simulation),
  • Fondation Fatronik, Spain (design of rapid manipulation robots),
  • Neuromedics MXM, France (implants),
  • AIST (Joint Robotic Lab, UMI 3218, Tsukuba, Japan). The director of UMI is currently a permanent member of the LIRMM robotic department staff (A. Kheddar). This collaboration enables frequent and fruitful exchange with the Japanese robotics community.
  • University of Montpellier 1 research team, EDM (Motor Efficiency and Deficiency). Members of this team are engaged in scientific collaborations with four of the department’s project-teams for modeling (dynamic, 3-D), identification, control, and design of mechanisms for physical therapy in patients.
