"A Melange of Mathematical Methods for Modelling MEPs" by Allen Rodrigo
Allen Rodrigo is Professor at the Univ. of Auckland and Invited Professor at LIRMM in 2006-07
Abstract: Measurably Evolving Populations(MEPs) present some fascinating challenges and opportunities for mathematicians interested in evolution. As the name suggests, MEPs evolve rapidly, and for this reason, new mathematical and computational tools are required to study different aspects of MEP biology. In this seminar, I will discuss some new methods of (a) computational vaccine design, (b) molecular epidemiology, (c) codon usage analysis, and (d) the reconstruction of serial phylogenies. |
