Séminaire "Brain and Behavior in Humans : What brain surgery can tell us about cognitive and motor functions?" présenté par Pom Charras le Mardi 22 mars 2011 à 14h dans la Salle de Séminaire du LIRMM

Présenté par Pom Charras (Post-Doc, équipe DEMAR) à 14h en Salle du Conseil du LIRMM.

Even though it is now well-established that the brain and cognitive functions are intimately linked, cognitive neuroscience is a new-born discipline and little is known about how the brain works. In this presentation, I will give an overview of my PhD research (experimental psychology and cognitive neuroscience). More specifically, I will detail some of my experimental studies on magnitude estimation and visual perception. And I will also present some data in healthy participants and in patients suffering left unilateral neglect. In the second part of the talk, I will detail the current research project of François Bonnetblanc (researcher in movement science) and Hugues Duffau (neurosurgeon at the hospital Gui de Chauliac, Montpellier) about awake brain surgery and about the consequences of tumor resection on cognitive functions.
