Philippe Fraisse is currently Professor at the University of Montpellier, France. He received the Master in Electrical Engineering of Ecole Normale Superieure de Cachan in 1988. He received Ph.D. degree in Automatic Control of Université Montpellier 2, France, in 1994. He was visiting Fellow of University of Hull, UK (1995). He is the head of robotics department (LIRMM) and co-chair of French National Workgroup (GDR Robotique) working on Humanoid Robotics (GT7). He is also member of JRL-France scientific board (Japanese-French joint Laboratory for Robotics, AIST-JRL). His research interests include humanoid robotics, robotics for rehabilitation and mobile manipulators as well as networked robots. He is recipient of two academic awards (Best paper award ISRAM'92, ICARCV'04). Member of IEEE and IFAC Technical committee of networked robots.
