The event will be held back-to-back with the 5th International Workshop on Inductive Logic Programming, and will include a one-day joint workshop of the Esprit Networks of Excellence on Computational Logic (Compulog) and Machine Learning (MLnet). Program: The scientific program will consist of invited talks and presentations of selected abstracts. Specific attention will be given to stimulating the discussion on the issues below, or similar ones. Authors are strongly encouraged to address such issues and link them to the scientific content of their abstracts. Position papers on these issues alone are also welcome. - The interrelation and cross-fertilization between substreams of work within the area. - The connections with border areas such as, among others, Inductive Logic Programming, Distributed AI and Multi-agents, Robotics, Natural Language, Constraint Programming, and Legal Reasoning. - The applicability of the technology developed in the KRR area to industrial applications. - The collaboration between CEC projects in the KRR area in which CL Network member nodes are involved. - The potential for cooperation in CEC sponsored educational programs. - Specific actions that can be taken to further improve interaction within the KRR area, and with border areas and industry. - The future of the area in the forthcoming extension proposal of the Compulog Network of Excellence. Abstracts of at most 5000 words should be sent to the KRR area coordinator: Luis Moniz Pereira Departamento de Informatica, Universidade Nova de Lisboa 2825 Monte da Caparica, Portugal, email: lmp@fct.unl.pt by 15 June 1995. Notification of acceptance/rejection will be given by 1 July 1995. Email submissions are preferred. A collection of the accepted submissions will be made available to the registered participants beforehand, in August, so as to facilitate and promote discussion.
