The day before the conference (May 20) will be devoted to an introductory short course on dynamical systems given by R. Devaney and J. Yorke. Some of the Lectures and Minisymposia are listed below. Each Minisymposium will have 4 lectures. Comments and Suggestions should go to the organizers, Jim Meiss (jdm@boulder.colorado.edu) and John David Crawford (jdc@phyast.pitt.edu). *************** Send mail to meetings@siam.org to get the brochure. Send mail to dyn-request@siam.org to get our email newsletter. The abstract form for submitting 75-word abstract is available in plain TeX and LaTex macro. The macros are available through SIAM Gopher Server by accessing gopher.siam.org. The deadline for contributed abstracts is Nov 7, 1994. Send your abstracts to meetings@siam.org, clearly indicating which meeting the abstract is for. ****INVITED LECTURES**** Onset of spatio-temporal chaos in unbounded lattice models Yakov Pesin Invariant manifolds and singularly perturbed equations Nancy Kopell Recent Results on the Dynamics of the Solar System Jack Wisdom Control and Synchronization of Chaotic Emission of Radiation Rajarshi Roy Pattern Evolution in Large Aspect Ratio Nonlinear Optical Systems Jerry Maloney The Role of Non-Normal Dynamics in Turbulence Brian Farrell Turbulent vortex rings in excitable media Art Winfree Dynamics of networks Robert MacKay An Introduction to Chemical Reaction Network Theory Martin Feinberg ****MINISYMPOSIA (partial list)**** Applications of the Conley Index R.
