Abstract.
Sturmian words (balanced, non ultimately periodic, infinite words)
have been widely studied since the works of Morse and Hedlund. Many equivalent
definitions have been established. Here, we give another one related to
the notion of n-chains of Morse and Hedlund.

Les mots sturmiens (mots infinis équilibrés et non ultimement
périodiques) ont été largement étudiés
depuis les travaux de Morse et Hedlund. Plusieurs définitions équivalents
ont été établies. Ici, nous en donnons une nouvelle
liée à la notion de n-chaîne de Morse et Hedlund.
