However, fundamental limitations in existing evaluation tools hinder innovation in memory systems.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 11.000000pt;font-family: 'Calibri'\">The F3CAS project proposes <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;font-family: Calibri\">a new paradigm to build user- <u>F<\/u>riendly, <u>F<\/u>ast and <u>F<\/u>aithful <u>C<\/u>omputer-system <u>A<\/u>rchitecture <u>S<\/u>imulations (F3CAS) tailored to the exploration of new memory architectures<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11.000000pt;font-family: 'Calibri'\">.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-size: 11.000000pt;font-family: 'Calibri'\">The main goal of this project is to uniquely combine FPGA-acceleration with tightly coupled domain-specific soft-processors to encapsulate the simulator in a software-like abstraction.
