Marc Gouttefarde is currently a CNRS Director of Research with the LIRMM, Montpellier, France, where he is mainly working on the design, control, and applications of cable-driven parallel robots. He received the B.Eng. degree in mechatronics from Institut National des Sciences Appliquées, Strasbourg, France, in 2001, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering from Laval University, Québec, Canada, in 2002 and 2005, respectively. From 2005 to 2007, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow with INRIA with the COPRIN project team, Sophia-Antipolis, France. He is the deputy director of LIRMM robotics department and associate editor of the ASME Journal of Mechanisms and Robotics (JMR) and of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters (RA-L).
