Keynote Speakers

Dr. Pascal Poncelet, University of Montpellier 2 - LIRMM, France

Pascal Poncelet

Pascal Poncelet is Professor and head of the data mining research group (Tatoo) in the LIRMM Laboratory. Professor Poncelet has previously worked as lecturer (1993-1994), as associate professor respectively in the Mediterannée University (1994-1999) and Montpellier University (1999-2001), as Professor at the Ecole des Mines d'Alès in France where he was also head of the KDD (Knowledge Discovery for Decision Making) team and co-head of the Computer Science Department (2001-2008). His research interest can be summarized as advanced data analysis techniques for emerging applications. He is currently interested in various techniques of data mining with application in Web Mining and Text Mining. He has published a large number of research papers in refereed journals, conference, and workshops, and been reviewer for some leading academic journals. He was also co-head of the French CNRS Group "I3" on Data Mining.

Dr. Hakim Hacid, Zayed University (previously Alcatel Lucent - Bell Labs)

Hakim Hacid

Hakim Hacid is a Senior Researcher and Research Department Head at Alcatel Lucent - Bell Labs. His department is dealing with privacy preserving data analytics and management in large scale environments. His team handles issues related to privacy disclosure in big data analytic processes including data anonymization and perturbation, suspicious behavior detection in communication data, etc. Supporting customers and/or leading teams in challenging projects towards analyzing, understandings, and solving real problems and business trends. This may include all related aspects from big data management to their analysis.

Dr. Mathieu d'Aquin, Knowledge Media Institute (KMI), UK

Mathieu d'Aquin

Mathieu d'Aquin is a research fellow at the Knowledge Media institute (KMi) of the Open University in Milton Keynes, UK. The major common point between all his research activities is the Semantic Web, and especially methods and tools to build intelligent applications relying on formalised knowledge distributed online. He has especially been involved in the development of the Watson Semantic Web search engine, and in many applications of its APIs. As part of several projects, he has worked on many aspects of building and exploiting the Semantic Web, including ontology building, ontology modularization, ontology matching, ontology evolution, ontology publication, etc. More recently, he has been working on aspects related to the use of semantic technologies and the Semantic Web for monitoring and managing online personal information.

Dr. Mathieu Roche, Cirad - TETIS - LIRMM, France

Mathieu Roche

Mathieu Roche is a CIRAD Research Scientist (PhD, HDR) at TETIS lab. Between 2005 and 2013, he has been Associate Professor (Maître de Conférences) at University Montpellier 2, France. Mathieu Roche obtained a PhD in Computer Science from University Paris XI (Orsay) in 2004. He defended his HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches - Accreditation to supervise research) in December 2011. At LIRMM, he was co-leader (2010-2012) and leader (2012-2013) of TEXT group.
