PlasmoExplore is a project of the program "Masse de Données - Connaissances Ambiantes" of the french National Research Agency. It aims at mining genomic and post-genomic data of Plasmodium falciparum (main agent of malaria), to predict the function of orphan genes and to select new drug targets.

The PlasmoExplore project implies teams from the Laboratoire de Physiologie Cellulaire Végétale (CNRS, CEA, UJF, INRA), the Laboratoire de Biologie Parasitaire (Museum d'Histoire Naturelle), and the Laboratoire d'Informatique Robotique et Microélectronique de Montpellier (CNRS, Université Montpellier 2).
