Workshop DSB 2022

Another great DSB meeting in person in Düsseldorf this year. A tight program full of interesting talks and a nice atmosphere. Even a sunny weather over Nordrhein-Westfallen’s capital!

On the second day, Pengfei Wang presented some theoretical results about the combinatorics of sets of periods. Periods of a word correspond to distinct overlaps of the word with itself. His talk gave insights about a long standing conjecture on the number of distinct sets of periods for words of a given length. This work is a collaboration with Michelle Sweering from CWI, Amsterdam.

Pengfei and I, were very glad to attend the entire workshop. A lot of ALPACA network members also attended this year, showing the increasing interest around topics in computational pangenomics.

Thanks very much to the local organizers. And see you next year at DSB in the Nederlands.
