Practical Information

Venue: The conference will take place at Polytech’ Montpellier on the campus Triolet of the University of Montpellier. Here you have a map of the campus Triolet of Université de Montpellier, where the conference will take place:

The easiest way to access the conference site is to enter the campus through the entrance close to “Place Eugène Bataillon“, marked in red in the above map. You will find it easily by this red statue placed in front of the entrance:

The registration on Monday will take place on the base floor of building 7 (in red in the map). All invited talks will also take place in this building, in the room “Amphi Dumontet”. All regular talks will take place on the first floor of building 36 (in red in the map), within a very short walking distance from building 7. In any case, there will be signs indicating the respective buildings.

Coffee breaks: They will take place close to the lecture rooms.

Lunch: From Monday to Friday, lunch will take place at this restaurant of the university, situated just in front of the Place Eugène Bataillon, outside of the campus. We will go there together.

Students’ residence: For the students who booked the option of staying at the residence of campus Triolet, this is the address of the reception of the conference (less than 5 minutes walk to the campus). Here you have a picture:

They will have a list with all your names, and there is somebody in the reception of the residence 24h/24. On Sunday July 3th, you can get the keys to your room from 9am, until any time at night. On Friday July 8th, you can leave your room at any time before midnight. Recall that breakfast is included with no extra charge.

Social activity: On Thursday (July 7th) several buses will pick up the participants at 15h00 at the entrance close to Place Eugènce Bataillon. We offer two possibilities for the social activity:

  1. A guided visit to these nice (and fresh) caves
  2. A free visit to the beautiful medieval village Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert.

Conference dinner: After the social activity on Thursday, the buses will take all participants to have the conference dinner at Château de Granoupiac

Note that, if you want to go to the dinner place with the buses that we have rented (and it is quite hard to reach it without a car), you cannot skip the social activity 😉

Transportation to the campus:

Two IMPORTANT things:

  1. There are renovating some parts of the tram in Montpellier around the Gare Saint Roch: see here. So you will probably have to take a detour (by tram) to go the the campus Triolet from the main train station.
  2. Watch out for PICKPOCKETS around the main train station (Gare Saint Roch). Unfortunately, it happens quite often…

From the airport to the Triolet campus, you can either:

  • take a taxi (about 13 km).
  • take the airport shuttle bus called the “the navette” (line 620) which you can find in front of the airport. It will take you to “Place de l’Europe” within approximatively 15 minutes. Than you can take the line T1 of the tramway, direction Mosson. The Triolet campus is located at 170 m (2 minutes) from the tramway stop “Université de Sciences et des Lettres”.

From the central train station (Gare Saint Roch), you can either:

  • take a taxi (about 6 km).
  • take the line T1 of the tramway, direction Mosson. The Triolet campus is located at 170 m (2 minutes) from the tramway stop “Université de Sciences et des Lettres”.
  • enjoy a nice 15 minute bike ride.

From the other train station (Gare Montpellier Sud de France), you can either:

  • take a taxi (about 10 km).
  • take the shuttle (“Navette“) to Place de France, and then Tramway T1, direction Mosson. The Triolet campus is located at 170 m (2 minutes) from the tramway stop “Université de Sciences et des Lettres”.
  • enjoy a longer 30 minute bike ride.

– For participants coming by train, we recommend choosing trains arriving at the central train station (Gare Saint Roch).
