Periodicity in Degenerate Strings

Glad to announce that a recent work done in collaboration with a team from CWI in Amsterdam was presented by P. Wang at the 26th Prague Stringology Conference (site), in August 2023.

A degenerate string can represent a multiple alignment of sequence and is considered as a pangenome representation. Our paper defines and investigates the properties of periods in degenerate strings. This work generalizes that of Blanchet-Sadri et al. (2010), which dealt with undetermined strings. For further details see publication

Congrats and thanks to all collaborators from the “Algorithms and Data Structures for Sequence Analysis” team of CWI, as well as to the organizers of the conference.

This work is supported by ALPACA project
