Happy to share the fourth article out of Pengfei Wang‘s PhD thesis, which has been published as a chapter of the LNCS volume containing the proceedings of COCOON 2025 conference. COCOON stands for the International Computing and Combinatorics Conference. The proceedings appeared in Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) volume 15984, which is accessible online at doi:10.1007/978-981-95-0218-9_28.
This works provides algorithms and formulas to count the number of pairs of words that overlap in a certain way, that as dictated by a correlation binary vector. The number of such pairs is termed the population size of the correlation.
