he CNRS PRIME (Projet de recherche interdisciplinaire multi-équipes) labelling programme is a key mechanism piloted by MITI to structure and encourage interdisciplinarity. Its aim is to encourage collaboration between researchers from different disciplines in order to tackle complex and innovative problems. Since its creation in 2021, around twenty teams have obtained this label, which attests to joint recognition by at least two CNRS institutes and supports the consolidation of these interdisciplinary collaborations.
To illustrate this dynamic, we interviewed the leaders of the ML4RegGen project, an initiative born of collaboration between biologists, computer scientists and statisticians.
The project brings together :
Laurent Bréhelin, computer scientist at CNRS – LIRMM (UMR5506), Montpellier
Charles-Henri Lecellier, biologist at the CNRS – IGMM (UMR5535), Montpellier
Sophie Lebre, mathematician at the CNRS – IMAG (UMR5149), Montpellier
By combining their complementary expertise, these teams are developing innovative approaches combining machine learning and statistical modelling to better understand and regenerate complex biological processes.
