The official inauguration ceremony for Michel Robert at the Montpellier Academy of Sciences and Letters was held on Monday, December 8 at 5:30 p.m. at the Montpellier Institute of Botany. The LIRMM was present to attend this milestone event and salute the recognition given to one of its former directors.
A professor of microelectronics at the University of Montpellier, Michel Robert has played a decisive role in the development of regional research. He has served as Director of the LIRMM and then of the CINES, and is an honorary member of the Institut Universitaire de France (IUF). However, this list does not reflect all of the many positions he has held during his career.
During the ceremony, he was officially installed in Chair IX of the Sciences section. In accordance with academic tradition, Michel Robert delivered a eulogy for his predecessor, the late Pierre Sabatier, to which Michel Chein responded.
The LIRMM extends its most sincere congratulations to Michel Robert on this prestigious distinction, which highlights the excellence of his career and the quality of his contributions to the scientific community.
