On Tuesday, February 3, the Montpellier Laboratory of Computer Science, Robotics and Microelectronics (LIRMM) had the honor of welcoming Véronique Dominguez-Guillaume, Deputy Rector for Higher Education, Research and Innovation (ESRI) for the Occitanie academic region, to the Saint-Priest campus.
This official visit took place in the presence of Philippe Augé, President of the University of Montpellier, and highlighted the dynamism, scientific excellence, and influence of the LIRMM in the fields of artificial intelligence, computer science, microelectronics, and robotics.
During the afternoon, several presentations provided an overview of the laboratory’s activities and prospects, including:
- the presentation of LIRMM and its scientific focus areas,
- the University of Montpellier’s roadmap for artificial intelligence,
- an overview of AI research conducted at LIRMM,
- the activities of the Computer Science, Microelectronics, and Robotics departments,
- as well as a presentation and tour of the University of Montpellier’s Inria branch.
Discussions highlighted the central role of LIRMM as a major player in AI research and knowledge transfer, at the heart of the regional academic and scientific ecosystem.
