The LIRMM is featured in the Museo Itinerante IFAL Obsidiana Savoir (MIOS), a Franco-Mexican traveling museum dedicated to science outreach. Among the projects on display is Ahmed Chemori’s work in underwater robotics, conducted as part of a scientific collaboration between the LIRMM and Mexican partners.

The museum was inaugurated on July 3, 2026, by Ms. Delphine Borione, French Ambassador to Mexico, as part of the celebrations marking 200 years of relations between France and Mexico.

Designed to make science accessible to as many people as possible, the exhibition highlights themes such as astronomy, biodiversity, ecology, robotics, and scientific culture. It will tour schools, rural communities, cultural centers, and science outreach venues throughout Mexico.

The MIOS project also benefits from the collaboration of Radio IPN (National Polytechnic Institute), which has produced audio pieces recounting the history of the featured projects as well as the scientific dialogue between France and Mexico.
