On 1 July, the LIRMM hosted the partners of the Franco-German ANR project EMO-SCI for a day of work and discussions.
Coordinated by the LIRMM, the project brings together Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, the University of Trier, the i3S laboratory and the LIRMM around a common objective: to better understand the interactions between emotions, artificial intelligence and distortions of scientific information in online discourse.
The project’s work aims, in particular, to develop new datasets, models and tools to analyse the role of emotions in the spread of scientific misinformation and disinformation, including in interactions with AI-based chatbots. Ultimately, EMO-SCI aims to contribute to a better understanding of these phenomena in order to provide tools to more effectively combat scientific disinformation online.
