The SEATIZEN project, led by LIRMM, has been awarded the 2025 Open Science Prize in the “Research Data” category. This award recognizes commitment to the openness, structuring, and dissemination of scientific data.
SEATIZEN collects, standardizes, and shares imaging data on coral ecosystems, applying the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable), for use by the scientific community and the general public.
Four projects from the “CNRS Computer Science” community were winners in this edition:
SEATIZEN – Coral reef ecosystem imaging data (Research Data Award)
GNU MPFR – Arbitrary precision floating point scientific computing library (Free Software Award – scientific and technical category).
Pharo – Object-oriented programming language and interactive environment (Free Software Award – documentation category).
NeuRon Virtualizer – Simulator of the electrical behavior of peripheral nerves (Free Software Award – promising category).
