The LIRMM is a partner of Inserm Workshop 289 entitled “Unlocking the Potential of Epitranscriptomics: a Cutting-Edge Workshop”, which will take place from June 8 to 10, 2026 in Bordeaux for the theoretical sessions, followed by practical sessions in Montpellier and Nancy. The event is co-organized by Alexandre David (IRCM, Montpellier), Yuri Motorin (IMoPA, Nancy), and Eric Rivals (LIRMM, Montpellier).
The workshop aims to train researchers, engineers, and PhD students in the fundamental concepts and the most advanced methods in epitranscriptomics, a field that studies chemical modifications of RNA and their roles in biological and pathological processes. The program brings together international experts to cover topics such as mRNA modifications, next-generation sequencing, mass spectrometry, and large-scale data integration.
The LIRMM will notably contribute through a presentation by Eric Rivals on the integration and analysis of epitranscriptomic data, a key challenge for fully leveraging information from sequencing and molecular characterization technologies.
This participation highlights LIRMM’s commitment to developing computational methods for life sciences and to disseminating knowledge within the international scientific community.
