Launch of the CNRS–Singapore international project “Embodied AI”The CNRS–Singapore international project “Embodied AI” began on January 1, 2026, for a period of four years. The launch meeting was held on January 28, 2026, in Singapore at the CNRS@CREATE premises, attended by institutional partners and Singaporean funding agencies, the NRF (National Research Foundation) and the NRP (National Robotics Program).

This project brings together several French laboratories, including LIRMM, LAAS, and LIRIS, as well as Singaporean research teams from NUS, NTU, and SMU universities. It falls within the field of artificial intelligence for robotics, with a strong scientific focus on Vision–Language–Action (VLA) approaches, aimed at improving the interaction and autonomy of robotic systems.

Beyond scientific advances, Embodied AI will promote close collaboration between France and Singapore through joint thesis supervision, hosting postdoctoral researchers, and regular exchanges of researchers, to which LIRMM will actively contribute.
