Congratulations to the Polytech students who win the NXP cup for the second year in a row!

On 10 and 11 May, the EMEA (Europe/Middle-East/Africa) final of the NXP Cup,of the NXP Cup, a student competition on the theme of autonomous vehicles.

Polytech Montpellier participated for the 4th time in this event, having won it last year 2022.

This prestigious competition invites us to design (mechanics, electronics, on-board software) a vehicle capable of achieving a performance (timing, obstacle avoidance, management of speed-restricted areas), in complete autonomy, on a previously unknown circuit.

Out of nearly 100 teams initially registered for the competition, only 18 teams qualified for this final. The countries represented:

  • Romania (5 teams)
  • Morocco (2 teams)
  • Lebanon (1 team)
  • France (2 teams: Polytech Montpellier and Phelma)
  • Germany (2 teams)
  • Switzerland (1 team)
  • Czech Republic (3 teams)
  • Netherlands (2 teams)

Testing and tuning took place on the 10th and the morning of the 11th of May.

The races started on Thursday 11th at 13h30 with the following results:

  • 1st Polytech Montpellier MEA (19.6s)
  • 2nd University of Lübeck (Germany) (21.4s)
  • 3rd Technical University of Iași (TUIASI) (Romania) (22.03s)

Out of nearly a hundred teams initially registered for the competition, only 18 teams qualified for this final representing Romania, (1st MEA 19.6, 2nd University of Lübeck (Germany) 21.4s, 3rd Technical University of Iași (TUIASI) (Romania) 22.03s)
