In this workshop, researchers in engineering, psychology and neuroscience from France and Japan will present current research on devices that increase the functional (limbs) and sensory capacities of the human body. They will show examples of these devices for participants to try out. Children will be able to create their own version of a sixth finger using LEGO parts, which they can take home with them. Meanwhile, a more detailed scientific presentation will be given to parents, in English. All participants will also have the chance to take part in an experiment to feel how the perception of our body can change when our brain “embodies” new limbs.
International workshop by the Montpellier Laboratory of Computer Science, Robotics and Microelectronics, with Tokyo University of Electrocommunication and Toyohashi University of Technology, Japan.
Registration required (tel. 04 99 06 27 48 or e-mail click here).
