SMILE: Système Multi-agent, Interaction, Langage, Evolution

Les activités de SMILE se fédèrent autour du paradigme des Systèmes Multi-Agents (SMA). Dans divers scénarios de recherche, SMILE utilise ce paradigme pour étudier, modéliser et implémenter des systèmes informatiques composés d’entités intelligentes et autonomes en interaction. Les compétences scientifiques de SMILE permettent d’adresser des problématiques liées aux deux niveaux de modélisation qu’on trouve dans les SMA : (1) niveau individuel, avec des modèles permettant la modélisation et la représentation des comportements (décision, apprentissage, préférences, etc.) et (2) niveau collectif avec des modèles d’organisations et d’interactions permettant de structurer efficacement ces systèmes.Suivant les cas d’étude, les individus considérés peuvent, soit être des agents artificiels (e.g. en robotique), soit modéliser des agents humains (e.g. en représentation des préférences), ou encore les deux, comme dans le contexte des jeux vidéo (sérieux ou non) où les constituants du logiciel et l’utilisateur peuvent être compris comme des agents en interaction participant à un seul et même système.
